Hershey Bears News Release

HERSHEY plays tonight at Pepsi Arena in Albany, looking for its eighth win of the season as the club takes on the River Rats.

The BEARS begin a three-game road trip tonight in New York's Capital District, and do so without the services of goaltender Frederic Cassivi. The veteran netminder was recalled early Friday to the Washington Capitals, and lost a narrow 4-3 decision to Martin Brodeur and the New Jersey Devils Friday afternoon at the MCI Center. Without Cassivi tonight, the BEARS turn to goaltender Kirk Daubenspeck, who has earned a point in each of his three starts this season. Daubenspeck most recently won against Springfield last Saturday night at GIANT Center in a 3-2 shootout triumph.

Albany enters play tonight having dropped three home games in a row. The BEARS enter play this evening winners of nine straight games against the River Rats dating back to March 28, 2004. HERSHEY'S streak against Albany is the longest current streak the team has against a single AHL opponent.

Tonight's game can be heard on 100.1 FM WQIC in central Pennsylvania, as well as world-wide on Pennlive.com and B2 Networks through HersheyBears.com. John Walton has the call of the action from the Capital District beginning at 6:40 p.m. Friday night. The BEARS finish play this weekend Saturday at Manchester. Face-off Saturday night at Verizon Wireless Arena is slated for 7:35 p.m.
