BlueClaws Three-Game Win Streak Snapped in 8-1 Loss

LAKEWOOD, NJ - Lucas Giolito gave up one run gave up four hits and one run over a career-long seven innings as Hagerstown topped the BlueClaws 8-1 on Wednesday night at FirstEnergy Park.

The game was called after the top of the 9th inning due to rain.

The loss for the BlueClaws (4-10/31-52) snapped a three-game winning streak and dropped them to 3-12 against the Suns (9-5/53-31) this year.

Hagerstown scored three runs in the first inning off Lakewood starter Ranfi Casimiro, taking the lead on a groundout by Isaac Ballou, a lead they would not relinquish. Casimiro (2-7) gave up five runs/four earned though he lasted a career long seven innings.

Carlos Lopez was 3-5 with 2 RBIs and Cherry Hill native Jimmy Yezzo was 2-5 with 2 RBIs in the win.

The BlueClaws run scored on a Dylan Cozens solo home run in the bottom of the 7th. It was Cozens' 10th home run of the season and second in as many days.

Aaron Baker, added to the roster earlier in the day, allowed three runs/one earned in two innings of relief.

The series concludes on Thursday night at 7:05. RHP Tyler Viza throws for Lakewood opposite RHP Jake Johansen.
