Blue Jays Trade Bisons' LHP Wade LeBlanc to the Seattle Mariners

The Toronto Blue Jays today announced that they have traded LHP WADE LeBLANC to the Seattle Mariners for a player to be named later or cash considerations.

LeBlanc, 31, made 14 starts for the Buffalo Bisons this season, going 7-2 with a 1.71 ERA and 85 strikeouts in an International League-best 89.2 innings of work. He also led the circuit in ERA, ranked 2nd in wins and was tied for 3rd in strikeouts. The southpaw has given Buffalo a quality starts in each of his last nine outings, a stretch that began on May 7 and included a 33.2-inning stretch without allowing an earned run. LeBlanc did not allow more than three runs in any of his 14 starts with the Bisons and the Herd was 10-4 when he was on the mound.

LeBlanc was the International League's Player of the Month for May, during which he was 3-0 with a 0.70 ERA in six starts.
