Today's Game
Tonight, the Bisons host the Louisville Bats for the third game of a four-game series from Coca-Cola Field (7:05 p.m.). These teams will meet again tomorrow afternoon (1:05 p.m.) and then the Herd will leave for a six-game road swing to Indianapolis and Louisville.
Half Way Home
The Bisons are at the half-way point of their 2016 season. Buffalo is 38-34 thus far with identical home (19-17) and road records. The Herd had the same home/road records last year (34-38), to finish the year 68-76. The Bisons are 20-14 in games decided by two runs or less and an International League-best 25-6 (.806) when scoring first.
Last Game (BUF 6, LOU 4)
INF Matt Dominguez hit a grand slam in the 3rd inning and INF David Adams added his first Bisons' homer in last night's 6-4 win. LHP John Anderson allowed three runs over five innings to earn his first career Triple-A victory and RHP Ryan Tepera earned his 10th save.
vs. Louisville (1-1)
Buffalo will travel to Louisville Slugger Field next Monday for three more games, June 27-29. Last night's Bisons' win ensures another series without a sweep for these two clubs. The last sweep in the rivalry was July 10-13, 2008 when the Bats won four straight in Buffalo
Chris Leroux
RHP Chris Leroux makes his 14th appearance and 12th start for the Bisons tonight. The righty allowed four runs in a no-decision last Friday in Lehigh Valley. The veteran is 4-1 with a 3.66 ERA in his last seven starts and has struck out 15 in his last 10.1 innings of work.
Wade LeBlanc
The Blue Jays traded LHP Wade LeBlanc to the Mariners this morning for cash considerations or a player to be named. LeBlanc was 7-2 with an IL-best 1.71 ERA in 14 starts with the Herd. He did not allow more than three runs in any of his outings and was tied for 3rd in the IL with 85 strikeouts. He also led the circuit with 89.2 innings of work.
Roster Move
RHP Danny Barnes has been promoted from New Hampshire for his Triple-A debut. Bares was 2-1 with a 1.01 ERA in 24 outings for the Fisher Cats, racking up 40 strikeouts to only 17 hits allowed in 35.2 innings. Barnes led the Florida State League with 34 saves in 2012.
Matt Dominguez
Last night, INF Matt Dominguez hit his second grand slam in eight days last night. The slugger also hit a slam on June 14 against Durham to become the first Bisons player to hit two grand slams at home in one season since OF Chris Clapinski hit three in 2004.
Blue Jays Update
The Blue Jays (39-34) lost to the Diamondbacks last night, 4-2. Former Bisons' CF Kevin Pillar drove in both runs for Toronto with his 18th double of the season. 3B Josh Donaldson had two hits as well to raise his average to .278. The Blue Jays host Arizona again tonight (7:07 p.m.). LHP J.A. Happ (8-3) gets the start for Toronto.
