Toledo Mud Hens News Release

Toledo fell victim to the talented SWB RailRiders on Wednesday night as Chad Bell's quality start was all for not. A late inning home run for Scranton Proved to be the difference and pushed the struggling Hens' record to 30-41 headed into the weekend.

It was Chad Bell's turn in the rotation against the RailRiders in game two of the three game set. The big lefty did not disappoint as he kept the fiesty Scranton offense in check over six scoreless frames of work. Over that span, Bell allowed just three hits, while striking out two and walking one. Bell's ERA now sits at 3.23 on the season.

Preston Guilmet was called on in relief of Bell's efforts in the 7th and the SWB offense was able to break through. After getting Nick Swisher to ground out for the first out, Tyler Austin stepped to the plate and turned around a Guilmet offering into the seats in left field to take the 1-0 lead which would be the only run of the game.

Tyler Collins recorded two of the three Hens' hits on Wednesday night, but the story was Chad Green. The hard throwing Green got the win for SWB after shutting down the Toledo offense over seven scoreless frames and striking out nine.

The two teams wrap up the series on Thursday evening at 7:05 PM.
