Louisville Bats News Release

DURHAM, N.C. - Stuart Fairchild homered for the second time in three games, but an offensive outburst by the Durham Bulls (33-30) toppled the Louisville Bats (23-39) 10-2 on Thursday night at Durham Bulls Athletic Park.

Despite an hour and forty-minute delay and a quick first inning, Louisville jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead. A leadoff single off the bat of Trey Amburgey set the table for Stuart Fairchild to launch a two-run homerun, his second blast in three games with Louisville this season, to put the Bats on top in the second inning.

The Bulls cut into the lead in the next inning as David Rodriguez launched a solo homer to put Durham on the board, down 2-1. They would go on to strike again in the home half of the fourth as Luke Raley and Rodriguez hit a pair of two-run blasts to take the lead 5-2.

Durham would continue to pour on the runs thanks to four more homeruns as they cruised to an 8-2 win.

Reds' rehabber Donovan Solano showed prowess at the plate for Louisville, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles on the night.

The Bats and Bulls will continue their series with game three tomorrow, June 17 at 6.35 pm E.T. Right-hander Ben Lively (2-4, 3.51) will take the mound for Louisville, facing off against left-handed pitcher Josh Fleming (6-0, 0.98) for Durham.
