
Knights Fall to Jumbo Shrimp 10-4 on Thursday

(UPTOWN CHARLOTTE, NC) -- First baseman Gavin Sheets and shortstop Zach Remillard both homered, but the Charlotte Knights dropped game three of the six-game series against the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp by a score of 10-4 on Thursday night from Truist Field in Uptown Charlotte. With the win, the 'Shrimp lead the series, 2-1.
Sheets launched his first home run of the season with the Knights in the bottom of the second inning to tie the game at 1-1. In the top of the second inning, however, the Jumbo Shrimp put up eight runs on the scoreboard to take a commanding 9-1 lead. Charlotte RHP Brody Koerner (0-5, 10.57) started for the Knights and was charged with the loss. He allowed all eight runs in the second inning of the game.
In the bottom of the fifth frame, the Knights mounted a comeback and got a three-run home run off the bat of Remillard, which made it a 9-4 lead for the Jumbo Shrimp at that point. The home run was Remillard's fourth of the season. The Jumbo Shrimp added a run in the top of the ninth inning to go on for the 10-4 win in game three.
Sheets led the game with three hits, while Remillard had a team-high three RBIs.
Chicago White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson went 1-for-4 in his third game on a major league rehab assignment on Thursday night. Anderson, who is currently on Chicago's 10-day injured list with a strained right groin, now has four hits in his three games on the assignment.
The Knights will continue the six-game-series against the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp (Triple-A affiliate of the Miami Marlins) from Truist Field on Friday night.
