Barracuda Sign Goaltender Sam Harvey to PTO

San Jose, CA - The San Jose Barracuda (@SJBarracuda), proud AHL (@TheAHL) affiliate of the NHL's San Jose Sharks (@SanJoseSharks), and General Manager Joe Will announced today that the team has signed goaltender Sam Harvey to a professional tryout agreement.

Harvey, 23, has appeared in 11 games this season with the ECHL's Fort Wayne Komets, going 8-1-2, with a 2.33 goals-against average and a .933 save percentage, along with one shutout.

A season ago, Harvey appeared in seven games with the Barracuda, notching a 2-4-2 record as a rookie, with a 3.26 goals-against average and a .904 save percentage.

Prior to turning pro, the six-foot, 185-pounder spent the 2019-20 season at the University of New Brunswick, appearing in 16 games with the Reds, going 14-2-0, with a 1.87 GAA, and a .912 SV%. Before his one year in college, Harvey went 129-46-14 in 199 games in the QMJHL over five years, finishing with a 2.53 GAA, and a .908 SV%, with 15 shutouts. The Alma, Quebec, native helped guide the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies to a Memorial Cup Championship in 2019.

Harvey was coached by Barracuda goaltending coach Dany Sabourin and was a teammate of Sharks' prospect Zach Emond in Rouyn-Noranda.
