Barracuda Sign Forward Ivan Chekhovich to ATO

SAN JOSE - The San Jose Barracuda (@SJBarracuda), proud American Hockey League (@TheAHL) affiliate of the San Jose Sharks (@SanJoseSharks), and General Manager Joe Will announced today that the club has signed Forward Ivan Chekhovich (@chehovich_ivan) to an amateur tryout agreement from the Baie-Comeau Drakkar (@DrakkardeBaie-Comeau) of the QMJHL (@QMJHL).

In 65 games with Baie-Comeau, Chekhovich, 19, collected 60 points (29 goals, 31 assists), and 28 penalty minutes.

Over two seasons in the QMJHL, the Yekaterinburg, Russia native has totaled 119 points (55 goals, 64 assists), and 42 penalty minutes in 125 games.

Chekhovich earned a bronze medal at the 2017 Under-18 World Junior Championships with Team Russia, while also claiming All-Star Team nods.

The five-foot-10, 176-pound winger was selected by the Sharks in the seventh round (#212) of the 2017 NHL Draft.
