Vegas NHL Draft Pick Hague Joins Wolves
April 3, 2018 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Chicago Wolves News Release
GLENVIEW, Ill. - The Chicago Wolves announced Tuesday that 19-year-old defenseman Nicolas Hague has been reassigned by the Vegas Golden Knights to Chicago.
The Kitchener, Ontario, native comes to the Wolves following the elimination of his Ontario Hockey League team, the Mississauga Steelheads, from the 2018 OHL Playoffs. Mississauga fell four games to two against the Barrie Colts in the first round of postseason action. The final game was Sunday, April 1.
Hague joined the Golden Knights organization when he was selected 34th overall - Vegas's fourth selection of the event - in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft. On Sept. 29, he signed a three-year entry-level contract with the Golden Knights and participated in their inaugural training camp prior to joining the Steelheads for the 2017-18 campaign.
This season marked Hague's third in the OHL with Mississauga. In that time, he has appeared in 198 games and accrued 148 points (67G, 81A). Hague led the team with 78 points (35G, 43A) in the regular season. During the 2018 OHL Playoffs, Hague collected four assists through six games to finish sixth in team scoring.
Hague also represented Canada at the 2016 Under-18 World Championship in Grand Forks, North Dakota.
The Wolves continue their push for a 19th postseason berth in 24 years on Tuesday, April 3, at Allstate Arena. They host the Milwaukee Admirals for a 7 p.m. game that will stream on AHLLive.com. For ticket information or to stay abreast on the Wolves' playoff push, visit ChciagoWolves.com.
