Christoffer Ehn Reassigned to Griffins

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Detroit Red Wings on Tuesday reassigned center Christoffer Ehn from Frolunda HC of the Swedish Hockey League to the Grand Rapids Griffins.

Ehn, 21, totaled 17 points (7-10-17), 24 penalty minutes and a plus-two rating in 50 games with Frolunda this season. He also skated in six postseason contests.

Detroit's third choice, 106th overall, in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft, Ehn has logged 147 games with Frolunda since 2013-14 and tallied 32 points (11-21-32). He's added three points (1-2-3) in 46 career playoff appearances and helped Frolunda win the league championship in 2015-16.

A native of Skara, Sweden, Ehn has experience in Sweden's second-highest pro league, appearing in four games with IK Oskarshamn in 2014-15 before scoring five points (2-3-5) in 13 contests with BIK Karlskoga in 2015-16.

Ehn has also played in Sweden's junior leagues, skating in 186 games between Skovde IK and Frolunda's junior squad from 2011-16 and combining for 127 points (53-74-127).

The 6-foot-2, 193-pound center has represented his country at the 2016 and 2015 World Junior Championships, and the 2014 World Under-18 Championship.

The Griffins continue their push for the playoffs on Friday and Saturday when they travel to take on the Pacific Division-leading Tucson Roadrunners. Both games will start at 10:05 p.m. EDT.
