. The Akron Aeros are 18-23 at Canal Park this season despite a .239 opposing batting average, and the team holds a 23-19 road record along with a .271 batting average against.

Aerodynamics.

. Lucky Number Seven. The Aeros utilized a seven-run seventh inning Monday night en route to a 9-3 victory in the opener of a four-game series against the visiting Trenton Thunder. Third baseman Lonnie Chisenhall and designated hitter John Drennen collected three hits each in front of the 6,859 fans for another Dollar Dog Monday at Canal Park. A Chisenhall homer in the first started the scoring and Drennen followed shortly after with an RBI infield single. Trenton responded with a run in the fourth and a pair in the top of the seventh against Akron reliever Bryan Price. The Aeros then sent 11 batters to the plate in the bottom of that seventh inning, tying a season-high with seven runs along with six hits and a pair of Thunder errors. Price (3-2) earned the win despite allowing the two runs (one earned) in two innings while Trenton starter Andrew Brackman (0-3) took the loss.

. Ground Zero. Right-handed starter Alex White delivered another quality start Monday at Canal Park but did not factor into the decision. He tied a career-high with 12 groundball outs and now has seven quality starts in nine Double-A outings, allowing one run on three hits with a walk and a strikeout in six innings pitched. The 21-year-old currently ranks second in the organization with a 2.23 ERA in 17 combined starts with Class A Kinston and Akron this year. Cleveland selected White in the first round (15th overall) of the June 2009 Draft and he entered the season as the ninth-best prospect in the system, according to Baseball America.

. Back to the Future. Chisenhall finished 3-for-4 at the plate Monday with his eighth home run of the season and three RBI. At 21 years and nine months old, he is the youngest player to appear in a game for Akron this season and he batted just .200 (6-for-30) on last week's seven-game road trip to Richmond and Bowie. Chisenhall began the year as the second-best prospect in the Indians organization and was recently selected to participate in Sunday's MLB XM All-Star Futures Game in Anaheim, CA.

. Drennen Delivers Difference. Another hot slugger for the Aeros is Drennen, who finished with two singles and a triple along with a pair of runs batted in during Monday's win against Trenton. The first round selection in the June 2005 Draft out of Rancho Bernardo High School in San Diego, CA now has a .340 batting average in his last 56 games played dating back to April 25th. He is batting .313 on the season overall, fourth in the Eastern League, and his six triples place him tied for second.

. Midsummer Night's Dream. The Eastern League announced today that Akron RHP Paolo Espino will replace recently promoted closer Bryce Stowell in the 2010 EL All-Star Game. Espino is 7-3 on the year with a 4.16 ERA in 17 games (11 starts) while Stowell was a fan selection for the game before being transferred to Class AAA Columbus Sunday. The 23-year-old Espino ranks sixth in the EL with seven wins and joins Akron teammates Chisenhall and Drennen on the Western Division roster.
