TONIGHT: The Richmond Flying Squirrels and Harrisburg Senators will meet in game two of a four-game series...Right-hander David Mixon allowed just one run over seven innings and the Flying Squirrels offense backed him up with five runs on 10 hits as Richmond claimed the series opener from Harrisburg 5-1 on Monday night at Metro Bank Park.

TONIGHT'S STARTERS: Left-hander Clayton Tanner gets the start in game two of the series for the Flying Squirrels...Received a no-decision in his last start against Erie 7/1...Allowed one run on three hits in seven innings plus one batter...Struck out four batters and walked two...Both walks came leading off an inning (1st & 7th) and one scored (7th)...Retired 17 of the next 19 batters he faced following a leadoff walk in the first inning...Recorded seven ground outs and nine fly outs...Threw 78 pitches, 49 strikes...Threw four pitches or less to 22 of the 26 batters he faced...Threw first-pitch strikes to 17 of the 26 batters he faced...Third time this season he went seven-plus innings...Went six innings or more for the sixth consecutive start...Had previously gone six innings or more just once in his first nine outings...Walked more batters than he struck out for the eighth time in 14 starts...Has allowed 18 runs, 14 earned, on 36 hits over 45 2/3 innings in his last even starts since coming off of the DL 5/30 (2.76 ERA)...Had allowed 10 runs, nine earned, on 13 hits in 5 2/3 in his previous two outings before landing on the DL (14.30 ERA)...Left-handed batters are hitting .203 against him (13-for-64).

WOULDN'T YOU KN-"O"-W: The Flying Squirrels offense has produced back-to-back 10-plus hit games over the last two contests...The club is 22-for-70 (.314) over the last two games with nine runs scored and additionally is 7-for-20 (.350) with runners in scoring position...Over the first three games of the four-game series with Erie, Richmond's offense tallied just 16 hits total and scored only five runs (1.67R/G)...The Flying Squirrels entered the series have having hit .306 over their previous six games with 33 runs scored (5.5R/G)...The club produced 10-plus hits in five of those six contests.

TAKING THE BELT-WAY: First baseman Brandon Belt went 1-for-3 last night with a walk and his second home run in as many games...In three games with Richmond, the 22-year-old is 5-for-11 (.455) with two home runs, two RBI, and three runs scored...In 80 games combined between Advanced-A San Jose and Double-A Richmond, Belt leads all of minor league baseball in batting average (.386) and on-base percentage (.493) and ranks fourth in slugging percentage (.643) and fifth in hits (108) .

NO SHOCKER: Third baseman Conor Gillaspie went 3-for-3 with a RBI last night to record his fifth three-plus hit game of the season and his 21st multi-hit game overall (second on the club)...The 22-year-old has hits in nine of his last 11 games and is batting .410 (16-for-39) over that stretch with a double, six RBI, and two runs scored...He has struck out six times and has walked twice...He has raised his batting average from .241 to .264 over that stretch...Richmond is 8-3 over the last 11 games.

EVEN STEVENS: Left-hander Jake Stevens has worked 9 1/3 consecutive scoreless innings over his last nine outings...He has allowed just three hits over that span while striking out eight batters and walking three...Left-hand hitters are batting 5-for-49 (.102) with 16 strikeouts...The 25-year-old is tied for third in the Eastern League with seven holds on the season.

RAY OF SUNSHINE: Right-hander Ronnie Ray has tossed six consecutive scoreless innings spanning his last five outings...Over that stretch, the 26-year-old has allowed just one hit (1-for-18) while striking out seven and walking three...He has stranded all four runners that he has inherited over the last five...It is the longest scoreless streak of the season for Ray.

DOUBLETREE DOWNTOWN DOUBLE PLAYS: The Richmond Flying Squirrels have turned 111 double plays in 84 games including six on 5/7 in Harrisburg...The club leads the Eastern League in double plays turned and has not gone more than two games without turning a double play.

CFS STAT OF THE NIGHT: Richmond improved to 15-2 when a starter goes seven innings or more...Right-hander David Mixon has supplied six of the 15 wins.
