HARRISBURG, PA - The Harrisburg Senators snapped a six-game losing-streak with a, 3-2, victory over the Richmond Flying Squirrels in front of 1,721 at Metro Bank Park on Tuesday night.

The Squirrels jumped on top in the third when Darren Ford cracked a one-out triple off of Senators' lefty Ross Detwiler. Two batters later, Thomas Neal brought him in with a single for a 1-0 Richmond lead.

Harrisburg responded against Squirrels' left-hander Clayton Tanner in the bottom of the inning. Detwiler singled to right field with one out and Danny Espinosa followed with a two-run home run to right field to pull Harrisburg in front, 2-1.

Richmond answered to tie the game back up in the top of the fourth, again off of Detwiler. Brandon Crawford led off the inning with a single and Nestor Rojas singled behind him to put two aboard. Ryan Lormand singled back up the middle and Crawford raced around to tie the score, 2-2.

Detwiler was removed after four innings, not factoring in the decision. He allowed two earned runs on eight hits. He issued no walks and struck out two. Left-hander Chuck James followed him into the ballgame and faced the minimum over two scoreless innings of relief.

Tanner settled in following the uprising in the third and kept the Senators at bay into the seventh. With two outs in the seventh, he allowed a pinch-hit single to Brad Coon. Tanner was lifted in favor of Daniel Turpen. Turpen's first pitch was rifled into the right-center field gap by Espinoso for a run-scoring triple, putting Harrisburg ahead, 3-2.

The run was charged to Tanner (4-6), who took the loss over 6 2/3 innings. He was charged with three runs, all earned. He surrendered six hits, walked one and struck out two. Despite the defeat, Tanner lasted at least six innings for the seventh consecutive start.

Right-hander Rafael Martin (3-1) earned the win for the Senators by tossing two scoreless innings of relief in the seventh and eighth. Right-hander Zech Zinicola entered to work a scoreless ninth, nailing down the win and earning his ninth save of the season.

Game three of the four-game series is scheduled for 7:00 PM on Wednesday night at Metro Bank Park. RHP Craig Westcott (0-0, 3.00) will make the start for Richmond against RHP Andrew Kown (2-4, 4.91) for Harrisburg.
