Harrisburg Senators News Release

Danny Espinosa homered, tripled, and drove in all three of his team's runs, as he led the Harrisburg Senators to a 3-2 home victory over the Richmond Flying Squirrels on Tuesday evening. The win snapped a six-game losing streak for the Senators.

Espinosa's two -run home run in the third inning gave the Senators (39-46) their first lead of the game, as they took a 2-1 edge. Richmond had plated a run in the top of the third, on Thomas Neal's RBI single that brought home Darren Ford. Ford had tripled with one out.

The Flying Squirrels (41-44) tied the score at two in the fourth inning, and then the scoring quieted down until the seventh. In the seventh, Brad Coon kept the inning alive with a two-out single, and then Espinosa tripled to right-center, scoring Coon and giving the Senators the winning run.

Reliever Rafael Martin (3-1) got the win for the Senators, as he combined with starter Zech Zinicola and relievers Chuck James and Zech Zinicola to allow nine hits and two runs in the ballgame. Starter Clayton Tanner (4-6) went six and two-thirds innings for Richmond, but was saddled with the loss after giving up the winning hit to Espinosa. Zinicola picked up his ninth save with a scoreless ninth inning.

The two teams are now split a game apiece in the series, and play game three Wednesday evening at Metro Bank Park. The first pitch is scheduled for 7:00 PM, with radio coverage on 1460 AM The Ticket and www.senatorsbaseball.com beginning at 6:45.
