Saskatoon Blades News Release

The Blades have selected defenceman Nelson Nogier 71st overall in the fourth round, a pick that the Blades acquired from the Seattle Thunderbirds in the trade for Travis Toomey.

"Nelson is a physical defenceman who plays with an edge," commented Blades' Assistant General Manager Jarrod Brodsky. "We feel that he has good upside and is the type of player who plays for keeps."

The 6'0, 160 lbs. forward from Saskatoon, SK collected 18 penalty minutes and scored a total of 2 goals and 9 assists for 11 points in 23 games with Martensville B-AA team this past season.

The Saskatoon Blades are proud to welcome Nelson and his family to the organization.
