Elks Bring in Global Linebacker Vrede
July 3, 2026 - EDMONTON - The Edmonton Elks have added Global linebacker Tyron Vrede to the practice roster, the club announced Friday.
Vrede (6'0, 230) joins the Green and Gold after five seasons as a standout special teamer in the Nation's capital. The Netherlands product had suited up for 55 games for the REDBLACKS from 2021 to 2025, registering 41 defensive tackles, 35 special teams tackles, one sack, and one forced fumble. July 2, 2026 - EDMONTON - The Edmonton Elks have added American linebacker Isiah King to the practice roster, the club announced Thursday.
King (6'3, 215) joins Edmonton after a distinguished five-year career (2021-2025) with the University of Idaho. In 41 games for the Vandals, King registered 152 total tackles, 13.5 tackles for loss, four sacks, three interceptions, and seven passes defended. Oil Kings Announce 2026/2027 Schedule
June 30, 2026 - Edmonton, Alta. - The Western Hockey League, and the Edmonton Oil Kings announced their schedule for the 2026/2027 regular season today.
With families at the forefront of Oil Kings hockey, 80 per-cent of the home games this season take place on a weekend or a holiday.

Oil Kings Select Three Players at CHL Import Draft
June 30, 2026 - Edmonton, Alta. - The Edmonton Oil Kings made three selections at the 2026 CHL Import Draft on Tuesday.
With their first selection of the day, 51st overall in the first round, the Oil Kings selected 2009-born defenceman Lukas Kachlir out of Havlickuv Brod, Czechia. Playing the 2025/2026 season with Bili Tygri Liberec, Kachlir played 29 games with the U20 squad, tallying six goals and 21 assists for 27 points. He also played in 13 games with the pro team.
