Blue Bombers Sign QB Payton Thorne
December 23, 2025 - WINNIPEG, MB. - The Winnipeg Blue Bombers today announce the club has signed American quarterback Payton Thorne.
Thorne (6-2, 207, Auburn; born: June 26, 2001, in Naperville, IL.) signs with the Bombers after attending camp with the Cincinnati Bengals this season, and a five-year collegiate career with Michigan State (2019-2022) and Auburn (2023-2024).

December 23, 2025 - WINNIPEG - The Winnipeg Jets Hockey Club announced today the team reassigned forward Mason Shaw from the Manitoba Moose to Team Canada for the 2025 Spengler Cup.
Shaw, 27, is tied for second on the Moose with 18 points (6G, 12A) in 28 games this season. The Wainwright, Alta. product has 55 points (23G, 32A) in 100 games as a member of the Moose and 176 points (66G, 110A) in 297 career AHL contests split between the Moose and Iowa Wild. Goldeyes Re-Sign Right-Hander Kowalski
December 22, 2025 - WINNIPEG, MB - The Winnipeg Goldeyes announced the re-signing Monday of right-handed starting pitcher Ben Kowalski.
Kowalski originally signed with the Goldeyes May 13 and made his professional debut May 20 in a win over the Milwaukee Milkmen. His contract was then transferred to the Dorados de Chihuahua of the Mexican League May 25. He returned to Winnipeg late in the season, signing August 15.

Blue Bombers Announce Coaching Changes
December 22, 2025 - WINNIPEG, MB. - The Winnipeg Blue Bombers today announce changes to the coaching staff for the 2026 Canadian Football League season. Tommy Condell has been named the Club's new offensive coordinator, and Jake Thomas will be transitioning from his playing career to become the team's defensive line coach, replacing retiring coach Darrell Patterson. Jason Hogan will return in 2026 as the Club's running backs coach, a role he previously held from 2022-2024.
