December 1, 2016 - SPOKANE, WA - The Texas Rangers have announced the 2017 field staffs for their minor league affiliates today, and the Spokane Indians will have a new manager for the first time since 2007. Matt Hagen, a veteran of 11 years in professional baseball, will replace longtime skipper Tim Hulett at the helm next season, which is scheduled to begin on Thursday, June 15 against the Boise Hawks at Avista Stadium. Chiefs News: Early Power Play Goals Sink Undermanned Chiefs, 2-1

December 1, 2016 - SPOKANE, Wash. - The Spokane Chiefs gave up two early power play goals to the visiting Portland Winterhawks and couldn't climb back, losing 2-1 at Spokane Arena on Wednesday night. Keanu Yamamoto scored the only goal for the Chiefs, who were without top scorer Kailer Yamamoto and only dressed 17 skaters for the game. November 30, 2016 - SPOKANE, Wash. - The Spokane Chiefs announced Monday that rookie forward Eli Zummack will remain with the club indefinitely. Zummack was originally called up prior to the Chiefs' game at Kamloops on November 23.
