November 19, 2024 - GASTONIA, N.C. - The Gastonia Ghost Peppers have hired Tony Fossas as their new pitching coach, as announced by general manager Brady Salisbury on Tuesday.
Fossas, 67, spent 12 years in the Major Leagues as a relief pitcher, from 1988-1999.
The southpaw pitched for seven different MLB teams in the dozen years, those being the Rangers, Brewers, Red Sox, Cardinals, Mariners, Cubs and Yankees.

November 8, 2024 - GASTONIA, N.C. - Former Gastonia pitchers Spencer Bivens and Bryan Sammons made their MLB debuts in the 2024 season for the San Francisco Giants and Detroit Tigers, respectively.
Bivens, a right-hander who made 17 appearances for Gastonia across 2021 and 2022, was signed by the Giants organization during the latter season and made his big-league debut on June 16, 2024. November 6, 2024 - GASTONIA, N.C. - The New York Yankees announced on Monday that they are adding former Gastonia catcher J.C. Escarra to the 40-man roster.
Escarra, 29, spent part of the 2023 season with Gastonia. In 41 games, the catcher slashed .348/.423/.707, which totaled a 1.131 OPS. Escarra hit 15 home runs, recorded 14 doubles and drove in 41 runs. He also had five more walks than strikeouts with Gastonia (22 BB, 17 Ks).

October 16, 2024 - GASTONIA, N.C. - Gastonia Baseball Club has announced it will go by the Gastonia Ghost Peppers in 2025 and beyond.
The new identity was revealed at a press conference event Wednesday night at CaroMont Health Park. Out of the eight potential names for the upcoming season, "Ghost Peppers" received the most votes from fans.
Gastonia showcased the Ghost Peppers uniforms from August 2-4 at CaroMont Health Park, sweeping Lexington in three games. The Peppers outscored the Legends by 14 in the series, hitting five home runs. ... Full Story
