Greenville Grrrowl News Release

GREENVILLE, SC – The Greenville Grrrowl of the ECHL have announced that JEFF ZEHR (F) and JASON METCLAFE (D) have been traded to the Bakersfield Condors of the ECHL for future considerations.

Zehr has played in 32 games with the Grrrowl after coming from Peoria in a trade earlier this season. He has accumulated 27 points (6G, 21A), and 175 penalty minutes in 41 total games to this point in the season. Metcalfe came to Greenville in a trade with Texas earlier this season, and had played in 41 games, totaling 3 points and 121 penalty minutes for the season.

In a related transaction, Zehr and Metcalfe have been suspended by the organization, as per ECHL guidelines, for failing to report to Bakersfield, and as a result, the trade is not valid and Bakersfield does not owe a future player to Greenville. This suspension is for 45 days, and can be lifted by the organization at anytime during that period. While under suspension, the rights to both players are owned by the Grrrowl.
