Checkers -Stingrays Game Still On For Tonight
January 27, 2004 - ECHL (ECHL)
Charlotte Checkers News Release
(Charlotte, NC - Tuesday, January 27)- The Charlotte Checkers versus the South Carolina Stingrays game scheduled for tonight for Cricket Arena at 7:00 p.m. will be played as planned. Despite the recent inclement weather, the Checkers consultation with the ECHL, the Stingrays and Cricket Arena resulted in a decision to play the game as scheduled.
"The Cricket Arena staff and management has done everything possible to help insure a safe environment for our fans tonight," remarked Checkers President Jeff Longo. "The Cricket Arena parking lot has been plowed and areas around the arena have been shoveled and salted. We still, of course, ask for our fans who plan on coming to the game to exercise caution in their driving to the arena as well as walking to and from the entrances."
The Checkers enter tonight's game just three points behind South Carolina for the fourth and final playoff spot in the ECHL's Southern Division of the Eastern conference. Charlotte is coming off a 3-1 win over the Greenville Grrrowl this past Saturday night at Cricket Arena.
Tonight's game is a Two-for-Tuesday night promotion. Every Tuesday game the Checkers have a different 2-for-1 special deal. Tonight, HOT DOGS are 2-for-1!
