Coat Drive and Student ID Night Tonight

January 27, 2004 - ECHL (ECHL)
Bakersfield Condors News Release

Bakersfield, Calif – The Bakersfield Condors will host the Fresno Falcons tonight at 7:00pm at Centennial Garden. It is the only home game this week for Bakersfield, and the first of three consecutive Tuesday night home games.

Tonight's game features the annual Project: Warm Families Coat Drive. Sponsored by KGET-TV 17, KRAB Radio and The Gas Company, the coat drive gives everyone who donates a new or gently used coat a free terrace level ticket. Last season, the event brought in over 2,000 coats. The United Way of Kern County will collect the donations and distribute them throughout the community.

Also, tonight's match is Student ID Night, sponsored by WB-12, KISS 96.5 and Golden Empire Transit. All junior high, high school and college students can get in for just $1 by presenting their valid student identification to the box office.

Also coming up this week is the Colonel Claw'd's Kids Club Ice Cream Party, being held at the Cold Stone Creamery Marketplace location on Wednesday night, January 28th. All members are welcome to attend the party, free of charge, and will receive a Kids Club Sunday just by presenting their membership card. There will be two parties this season at Cold Stone Creamery, and half the team will attend the first event, the other half of the roster will attend the second, to be held at a later date.

All games, home and away, can be heard on KGEO AM 1230, and online at www.bakersfieldcondors.com, with "Condors Countdown" starting 15 minutes prior to face off. The "Voice of the Condors" Kevin Bartl handles the play-by-play alongside Condors Legend Kevin Barrett for the color commentary.

Speaking of Kevin Barrett... Congratulations are in order to Kevin and his wife, Amy, who had their second son on Saturday night. Hudson Gordie Tobias Barrett weighed in at nine pounds, three ounces and is destined to be a big, bruising defenseman.

Individual seats are on sale now, and may be purchased through the Centennial Garden box office, which opens at 10:00am Monday through Saturday. Tickets may also be purchased by phone through Ticketmaster at 322-2525, online at www.ticketmaster.com or at any Ticketmaster location.

Condors Droppings: The Condors Online Auction of the Month, with proceeds benefiting the American Red Cross – Kern County Chapter, features the "Behind Closed Doors" package. This is your chance to see what really goes on during a Condors practice session. Come down to The Garden and go behind closed doors -- take a tour of the locker room, meet the coaches and players, receive a Condors jersey to get autographed, and watch a full practice. Log onto www.bakersfieldcondors.com to place your bid.
