After a nomination period by CHL teams, the league front office determined the finalists for each award. 2010-11 CHL Most Valuable Player candidates include Americans Winger Colton Yellow Horn, Rapid City forward Ryan Menei, Colorado forward Riley Nelson, Missouri goaltender Robby Nolan and Odessa forward Sebastien Thinel.

A second year pro, Yellow Horn has contributed 27 goals and 47 assists for 74 points this season. The Brocket, Alberta native leads the Americans in assists and total points.

Rookie of the Year honors will be determined amongst Allen defenseman/forward David Strathman, Rio Grande Valley forward Aaron Lewicki, Bloomington defenseman Alan Mazur, Texas goaltender Wayne Savage and Tulsa forward Gary Steffes.

The skilled, versatile skater from Tempe, Arizona started the season on defense for the Americans, but has moved to the wing on many occasions.
