March 11, 2011 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
Bloomington PrairieThunder News Release
The Bloomington PrairieThunder, playing shorthanded without two forwards, dropped a 4-1 decision to the Odessa Jackalopes in Texas on Friday night. Odessa's Ken Bernard scored the game winning goal at 14:35 of the first period after the game was tied 1-1. Jackalopes Alex Dunn, Mike Ramsay, and Sebastien Thinel each had a goal and an assist. For Bloomington, Brett Holmberg scored the lone PrairieThunder goal, his 20th of the year, on assists from Aaron Dawson and Jon Booras.
The PrairieThunder played with only 16 players, two under the game limit of 18, as Jason Dale remains on recall in the American Hockey League and Brodie Sheahan remains out of the line-up with an upper body injury. With the loss, Bloomington is in third place in the CHL's Turner (Northern) Conference with a record of 32-18-6. Odessa improves to 26-26-6 and is in fifth place in the Berry (Southern) Conference.
In other Friday night news, the Bridgeport Sound Tigers lost 4-3 in shootout to the Providence Bruins. Jason Dale had one shot in the game but registered no points.
Bloomington continues on their Texas road trip on Saturday night at 7:05pm against the Odessa Jackalopes. The game can be heard on WEZC-FM (95.9), WJBC.com, CHL-TV, or watch the game at BlueLine Nightclub, 602 N. Main Street in downtown Bloomington.
