
Wranglers top Aces in overtime, 2-1

Las Vegas, NV- The Las Vegas Wranglers defeated the Alaska Aces 2-1 in overtime on Friday night in front of 5,957 fans at the Orleans Arena. Wranglers' defenseman Aaron Power and winger Tyler Mosienko each scored for Las Vegas in the victory. Wranglers' goalie Mike McKenna made 30 saves to earn his 23rd victory of the season. Winger Joe Talbot scored the lone goal for the Aces in regulation. Alaska goalie Derek Gustafson made 37 saves in the loss. With the win, Las Vegas moves within three points of the Aces for the number one seed in the National Conference. The Wranglers will host the Aces again tomorrow night at the Orleans Arena at 7:05pm (PST).
After two scoreless periods, Wranglers' defenseman Aaron Power fired a shot from the left point that zipped past Aces' goalie Derek Gustafson to give the Wranglers a 1-0 lead with 7:30 left in the game. The Aces would answer back on the ensuing power play as Julian Talbot came off the end boards and sent a pass out front for Joe Talbot, who hit the open net to tie the game 1-1.
In the overtime period, it took the Wranglers just nine-seconds to capitalize as Tyler Mosienko sent the puck to the back of the net for the game-winning goal.
Saturday, March 31st, Las Vegas will host Alaska at 7:05 pm. Before the game, from 4:30 - 6:30 in the concourse of the Orleans Arena, fans may attend the Port of Subs Pre-Game Party. Las Vegas will conclude a four-game home stand with Long Beach at 7:05 pm on Tuesday night at the Orleans Arena.
