
Gladiators Sign Brandt; Release Sawruk

The Gwinnett Gladiators announced today that they have signed forward Andy Brandt. In addition, they have released forward Alex Sawruk.
Brandt comes to the Gladiators after completing his senior season at the University of Wisconsin this year. In 40 games this season with the Badgers, Brandt posted 3 goals and 3 assists for a career high 6 points.
A four time letter winner at Wisconsin, Brandt helped the Badgers to the 2005-06 NCAA Championship as they defeated Boston University 2-1 in the final. In 128 career collegiate games, Brandt posted 5 goals and 9 assists for 14 points.
Sawruk, who joined the Gladiators for the second time this season on Thursday, was held scoreless in one game with Gwinnett. In three games this season with the Gladiators Sawruk has not registered a point with Gwinnett.
Brandt should be available for the Gladiators for tonight's 7:35 p.m. tilt against the Pensacola Ice Pilots on the Your Best Rate Financial Home Ice at the Arena at Gwinnett Center.
