Wranglers fall to RoadRunners 4-2

Las Vegas, NV- The Las Vegas Wranglers® were defeated by the Phoenix Roadrunners 4-2 Friday night in front of 5,395 fans at the Orleans Arena. Phoenix defenseman Jake Ortmeyer scored his fourth goal of the season at 19:40 of the second period for the game winner. Goalie Mike McKenna made 21 saves in the loss for Las Vegas. Forwards Nick Anderson and Marco Peluso each scored for the Wranglers. Phoenix goalie Kevin Reiter made 36 saves in the win. The Wranglers travel to Bakersfield to play the Condors tomorrow night at 7:05 pm at the Rabobank Arena.

In the first period, Brian Yandle scored his first goal of the season to give the Roadrunners an early 1-0 lead. Justin Aikins added to the lead at 8:40, scoring his fourth goal of the year to make the score 2-0 after the first.

In the second period, Marco Peluso scored his second goal of the year unassisted to bring the Wranglers within a goal at 2-1. Jake Ortmeyer countered back for Phoenix, scoring with just 20-seconds left in the period to give Phoenix a 3-1 lead after the second period.

In the third period, Nick Anderson tallied for the third time this year to bring the Wranglers back to within a goal at 3-2. With 1:20 remaining in the game, Brett Smith scored an empty-net goal to seal the win for the Roadrunners.

Las Vegas will return home on Sunday, November 26th at 5:05 pm top face the Bakersfield Condors at the Orleans Arena. The first 2,000 fans receive a Mullet Wig with a pink headband.
