Augusta, GA - Joe Cardarelli recorded the only goal of the game for the Augusta Lynx in a 4-1 loss to the South Carolina Stingrays on Friday night in front of 3,210 fans at the James Brown Arena.

Viktor Dovgan staked the Stingrays to a 1-0 lead just 54 seconds into the contest when he jumped into the rush and deposited a Cail MacLean leave over the shoulder of Brett Jaeger. Peter Szabo and Ryan Bennett tacked on two more goals to make it 3-0 by the :31 mark of the middle frame.

Augusta managed to break into the scoring column as Joe Cardarelli scored his fifth power play goal of the year on a wraparound shot that beat Davis Parley between the legs to make it 3-1 from Shane Hynes and Sean Blanchard at 8:03.

From there, Josh Anderson would finish off the scoring at 19:19 of the second period for the 4-1 final.

Jaeger finished with 21 saves on 25 shots in taking the loss while Parley made 32 saves for the win.

Augusta plays twice more this weekend with road games against the Charlotte Checkers Saturday night and Stingrays on Sunday. The Lynx's next home game will be on Tuesday, November 21 at 7:35 pm when they take on the Columbia Inferno.
