"Comeback 'Catters" WIN Overtime Thriller

Beaumont, TX- The Texas Wildcatters rallied from two goals down in the third period and completed a thrilling come from behind victory to defeat the Gwinnett Gladiators 5 to 4 in front of a crowd of 1,535 at Ford Arena. Mike Bayrack scored the game winner at 1:52 of overtime to complete the comeback for Texas. Bayrack skated in on the right wing side past the Gwinnett defense to beat Gladiators goaltender Dan Turple and send the ‘Catters home winners. Daniel Sparre scored two goals including the game tying goal at 15:31 of the third period. Sparre also put on a magnificent move to tie the game at 4. Kevin Baker netted his league leading 10th goal of the season and Mark Rooneem rounded out the scoring for the Wildcatters.

Matt Yeats was instrumental in keeping the Wildcatters in reach for the comeback as he stopped 36 Gwinnett shots including all 15 in the third period. Luis Tremblay and Leon Hayward added two assists each in the victory. The Wildcatters improve their record to 5-2-1-0 on the season after getting their first ever victory against Gwinnett.

The Texas Wildcatters are the ECHL affiliate for the AHL's Houston Aeros.
