Augusta Lynx News Release
Augusta, GA - The Augusta Lynx open a stretch of three games in three nights with their lone home contest of the week Friday, November 10 at 7:35 pm when the South Carolina Stingrays come to town.
Featuring a performance by the Zooperstars on Military Appreciation Night, the Lynx are excited to get back home for the first time in 20 days. Military personnel and veterans may purchase tickets as buy one, get one free or buy single seats for $5 off. Music with a patriotic flair will be performed by the Fort Gordon Idol contest winner Tony Cooper as well!
The game itself features a Lynx team that returns home after going 3-3-0 on the road in six straight away from the James Brown Arena. Augusta and South Carolina meet a total of 11 times this year, with Augusta holding a 27-25-9 record all-time in the series.
South Carolina (5-3-0) features the league's best power play, scoring 16 goals on 71 chances for this year, a 22.5% efficiency. The Stingrays also rank fourth in goals for per game (4.13) and shots for per game (35.63). Surprisingly, the team has been outscored by opponents 37-33 despite those stats, owning only a 13-11 advantage in the first period in goals scored, and the Stingrays are 25th overall in goals against at 4.63 per contest.
Augusta, meanwhile, will feature a new defenseman in the lineup tonight as the team has inked Weston Tardy to a contract. Tardy played four years at Colorado College in the WCHA where he appeared in 110 games with three goals and 18 points. Prior to his NCAA career, the 5-11, 185-pound blueliner spent a year with the Des Moines Buccaneers under the tutelage of current Lynx head coach Bob Ferguson. He will wear number six for the club.
Come out and cheer your Augusta Lynx as they take on the Stingrays tonight at 7:35 pm! Tickets are on sale now through the Lynx office at 551 Greene Street by calling (706) 724-4ICE, on line at www.TicketMaster.com, and via all TicketMaster locations.
