Wranglers caught by Roadrunners 4-1

Las Vegas, NV- The Las Vegas Wranglers® (33-11-13, 79 points) were defeated by the Phoenix Roadrunners (25-28-5, 55 points) 4-1 on Saturday night in front of 6,011 fans at the Orleans Arena. Wranglers' defenseman Jason Josza scored the lone goal for Las Vegas. Goalie Kevin Nastiuk made 15 saves for the Wranglers in the loss. Phoenix goalie Cody Rudkowsky make 32 saves for the Phoenix victory. Phoenix winger Todd Jackson and defenseman Dusty Demianiuk each registered a goal and an assist in the win. Las Vegas will host the Idaho Steelheads at the Orleans Arena on Tuesday night at 7:05pm.

In the first period, Lance Monych scored his eleventh goal of the season on the power play to give Phoenix a 1-0 lead.

After a scoreless second period, Phoenix forward Todd Jackson slipped the puck through the legs of Wranglers' goalie Kevin Nastiuk to make it a 2-0 lead. Roadrunners' defenseman Dusty Demianiuk scored his fourth goal of the season to push the Phoenix lead to 3-0. After pulling goalie Kevin Nastiuk, wranglers' defenseman Jason Josza scored for the seventh time this season to break the shutout with 2:25 left in the game. With 23-seconds remaining in the game Jeff Kyrzakos added an empty-net goal to seal the victory for Phoenix.

The Wranglers continue their seven-game home stand on Tuesday when they host the Idaho Steelheads at 7:05 pm. Friday March 9th and Saturday, March 10th Las Vegas will host Texas at 7:05 pm.
