Mondou's two goals leads Trenton comeback

TOLEDO, OH (March 3, 2007) - Benoit Mondou scored a pair of goals in the third to lead the Trenton Titans to a 4-2 victory over the Toledo Storm on Saturday at the Toledo Sports Arena.
As Trenton trailed 2-1 in the final frame, Mondou batted down Gerry Burke's outlet attempt and fired a turnaround shot that sneaked past Dominic Vicari at 11:48. Then, with time dwindling down in the game and the Titans skating on the power pla, Bryan Miller found Mondou on the rush for a one-timer from the near circle that went top corner to make it 3-2 with 2:24 left in the game.
Toledo had a chance tie with its own power play late in the third, but Mark Pandolfo's empty-net shorthanded tally iced it with 14 seconds remaining.
Scott Bertoli gave Trenton a 1-0 lead 7:33 into the game when he spun away from Jason Maleyko behind the goal line and stepped in front of the crease for a stuff shot that made it inside the near post.
The Storm were able to tie it up before the intermission as Chris Blight was left alone on top of the goal mouth and allowed to deposit a rebound from Matt Zultek's wrist shot into the net for a goal on the man-advantage at 18:55.
Defenseman Gerry Burke gave Toledo its first lead of the match, taking an offensive zone face-off win and blasting a slapshot off the iron and in at 5:16 of middle period.
Gregg Naumenko picked up his 15th win of the season stopping 21 of 23 shots. The Titans were 1-for-5 on the power play and 6-for-7 on the penalty kill.
