Taylor earns Player of the Month honor

ESTERO, FL - Florida Everblades forward Adam Taylor was named the CCM TACKS ECHL Player of the Month for February, the league announced today.

The Campbell River, British Columbia native tied for second in the ECHL during February with 11 goals and tied for fifth in scoring during the month with 20 points. Since being acquired by the Everblades from Pensacola on Jan. 3 in exchange for defenseman Niko Tuomi, Taylor has 24 points (12g-12a) in 21 games.

The 22-year-old scored a point in 11 of 13 games in February and finished the month with a season-high nine-game scoring streak (10g-8a) including a four-game goal streak (7g) from Feb. 10-17. The 6-foot and 200-pound Taylor, who is tied for third on the team with 25 assists and is fourth with 41 points, scored his first hat trick of the season and had a season-high three points in a 7-4 loss against Gwinnett on Feb. 14. He tied his season high on Feb. 17 with a goal and two assists in a 5-4 shootout win at South Carolina. He scored eight points (4g-4a) in six road games in February including a pair of goals in a 3-1 win at Augusta on Feb. 16. He had seven multiple-point games, three power-play goals and a game-winning goal during the month to help Florida go 10-3-0 and move into first place in the American Conference.

The former seventh round draft pick by the Carolina Hurricanes in the 2002, but currently under contract to the Florida Panthers, was also named the ECHL Plus Performer of the Month for February with a plus-minus rating of + 11 in 13 games.

Taylor began the season with Victoria and had six points (1g-5a) in 15 games before being traded to Pensacola on Nov. 28, 2006 in exchange for Derek Krestanovich and Jordan Krestanovich. He had 11 points (3g-8a) in 15 games with the Ice Pilots giving him a total of 41 points (16g-25a) in 51 games.
