SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The Worcester Red Sox (60-59) erased an early deficit to beat the Syracuse Mets (51-69) on Wednesday night, a 6-4 victory at NBT Bank Stadium to even the series in upstate New York.
Syracuse jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first, plating runs on back-to-back home runs from Daniel Palka and Travis Blankenhorn.
The WooSox did not score until the fourth, but would rally for six runs in three innings. Johan Mieses got the Worcester scoring started on an RBI double in the fourth.
Enmanuel Valdez made it 3-2 in the fifth, driving home Cam Cannon on an RBI groundout-two batters later, the WooSox took the lead after a throwing error by Syracuse second baseman Gosuke Katoh.
