EASTLAKE, Ohio - TinCaps starting pitcher Matt Wisler has two wins this year and both of them have come in his home state of Ohio. His second victory came Saturday night as the Bryan, Ohio native struck out a career-high eight batters in a 3-1 win over the Lake County Captains. Yeison Asencio aided the cause with a two-run home run in the fourth inning.

Wisler (2-3) tossed five innings of shutout baseball, allowing five hits and one walk. Asencio's home run gave Fort Wayne (27-29) a 2-0 lead in the first, and Tyler Stubblefield added an RBI double in the fifth to give the TinCaps their third run of the night.

James Needy followed Wisler and worked the sixth and the seventh. An unearned Lake County (26-29) run scored in the seventh inning, as Fort Wayne committed two errors in the frame. The TinCaps tied their season high by committing four errors in the game.

Johnny Barbato pitched the eighth and ninth innings for Fort Wayne, facing the minimum six batters. Barbato recorded four strikeouts, fanning all three Captains he saw in the ninth. The 19-year-old from Miami earned his first save of the year.

The 14 strikeouts notched by TinCaps pitching tied a season high for a nine-inning game.

Game two of the three game series is scheduled for Sunday at 1:00 PM. The scheduled starters are Ruben Mejia for Fort Wayne and Elvis Araujo for Lake County.
