Utah Grizzlies News Release

West Valley City, Utah - The Victoria Salmon Kings defeated the Utah Grizzlies (14-8-3-1) 4-3 Saturday night at Maverik Center.

Utah had to dig themselves out of a 3-0 hole as Andrew Engelage relieved J.P. Lamoureux in goal 15:40 into the first period as Victoria took a 2-0 lead.

Down 3-0 in the second, Utah started to chip away as Nick Tuzzolino (5) buried a power-play goal 13:20 into the second period with Kevin Deeth and Brett Parnham picking up assists as they worked the puck around. The Salmon Kings however, got their three-goal lead back 19 seconds later and it was 4-1.

Brad Snetsinger knocked in a lose puck with less than ten seconds left to go in the second to make it 4-2 at the second intermission as Utah buried their second-straight power-play goal. The Grizzlies got within a goal at 8:59 of the third period when Matt Sorteberg hacked in a puck from the far circle into an open net. Utah went three-for-seven on the power-play.

Utah outshot Victoria 20-6 in the third and 37-17 in the final two periods, but was never able to get the tying goal despite several close calls late. Engelage stopped 19 of 21 shots to finish the game.

"I thought we were gonna score there at the end, we just couldn't get the puck up in the air," said Grizzlies Head Coach Kevin Colley. "The guys really battled in the final 40 minutes."

Brett Parnham (two assists) and Brad Snetsinger (one goal, one assist) both had multiple-point nights.

Utah hosts Idaho Tuesday and Wednesday at Maverik Center. Face-off both nights is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
