Duluth, GA -The South Carolina Stingrays (13-13-1-0) defeated the Gwinnett Gladiators (12-10-1-4) 3-2 in front of 4,228 at The Arena at Gwinnett Center Saturday night.

Stingrays forward Rob Ricci broke open the scoring at 8:49 of the second period lifting a wrist shot over the glove of Gladiators goaltender Chris Carrozzi. Forward Tommy Goebel earned the lone assist. Goebel made it 2-0 at 10:35 with his fifth tally of the year from forwards Pierre-Luc O'Brien and Trent Campbell.

Campbell put the Stingrays up by three at 6:42 of the final frame from O'Brien and defenseman Bryan Schmidt. The Gladiators jumped on the board moments later as forward Andy Brandt fired a slap shot past Stingrays netmider Jared DeMichiel at 10:14. Forward Ian McKenzie acquired the only assist. The Gladiators pulled within one at 17:28 when forward Tim Miller deflected a shot from defenseman Will Colbert. Forward Michael Forney received the second assist.

DeMichiel improved to 3-0-0 against the Gladiators stopping 28 of 30 shots. Carrozzi suffered the loss blocking 23 of 26 Stingrays chances. The Gladiators finished the night 0-for-7 on the power play while the Stingrays went 0-for-5.
