Wranglers fall to Grizzlies, 4-1

Las Vegas, Nev.- The Las Vegas Wranglers fell to the Utah Grizzlies on Friday night in front of 3,015 at the Maverik Center. Grizzles' goaltender Andrew Engelage earned his seventh win of the season turning away 38 of 39. Wranglers' tender Michael Ouzas tallied his third regulation loss of the season turning away 38 of the 41 shots he faced. Both teams had five power play opportunities with Utah finding the net one time. The Wranglers drop to 13-6-2 on the season and are now riding a two-game losing streak. The Grizzlies improve to 14-7-4 and are now on a two-game winning streak. In their five meetings this season the Wranglers hold a 2-2-1 record against the Grizzlies.

Neither team was able to score in the first period of Friday's match as both teams headed to the locker room with an identical dozen shots on net.

Utah tallied the first two goals of the game and the second period. Chris Donovan opened the scoring at 3:38 with assists going to Michael Gergen and Marcus Carroll. Brett Parnham put Utah up by two with his power play goal at 9:08 assisted by Kevin Deeth and Nick Tuzzolino. Vegas answered back with their first goal of the game at 17:28 of the second period. Defenseman Craig Switzer tallied his fourth goal of the season assisted by Blair Riley and Greg Collins to draw the Wranglers within one.

Utah finished the match with the final two goals in the third period to seal the win for the Grizzlies. At 12:30 Brad Snetsinger tallied his team leading ninth goal of the season assisted by Chris Donovan and Marcus Carroll. Utah added an empty net goal at 19:44 with Matt Clarke assisted by Riley Emmerson to lift Utah to the 4-1 win.

Las Vegas returns home to host Idaho for a two-game weekend set on December 18th and 19th. The puck drops at 2:05pm on Sunday.

Las Vegas will see Utah again for the much anticipated midnight game on December 27th. The puck drops at 11:59pm.
