LANGLEY, B.C. - The Vancouver Giants enjoyed a bit of history set at Langley Events Centre Saturday night over the course of their 6-2 win over the Everett Silvertips.

Giants captain Mazden Leslie became the franchise's all-time leader in goals by a defenseman by netting his 49th and 50th career tallies in the victory. Leslie finished the record-setting affair with five total points.

Zack Shantz opened the scoring for Everett 7:50 into the first period, his 13th of the season. Maxim Muranov tied the score with 11 seconds remaining in the frame. Leslie's first of the night gave Vancouver the lead 5:53 into the second for a 2-1 score after 40 minutes.

Vancouver scored four total goals in the third, including Leslie's 50th at 18:45.

Everett will venture up to Prince George next weekend for a pair of games against the Cougars. They return home Friday, Feb. 21 hosting the Portland Winterhawks.
