Tyson Strachan Recalled By Blues

ST. LOUIS (April 10, 2010) - St. Louis Blues President John Davidson has announced that the club has recalled defenseman Tyson Strachan from the Blues' American Hockey League affiliate, the Peoria Rivermen.

Strachan, 25, has appeared in seven games with the Blues this year and has registered two assists and four penalty minutes along with a plus-3 rating. In 65 games this season for the Rivermen, the 6-foot-3-inch, 215-pound defenseman collected 26 points (five goals, 21 assists) including a power-play goal on Friday night against the Manitoba Moose.

A native of Melfort, SK, Strachan made his NHL debut last season for the Blues and appeared in 30 games. Originally drafted in the fifth round, 137th overall, by the Carolina Hurricanes in 2003, Strachan was signed as a free agent by the Blues on Oct. 9, 2008.
