
Pirates To Face Manchester in Opening Round

Portland, Maine - The Portland Pirates will begin their pursuit of the 2010 Calder Cup in a best-of-seven series against the Manchester Monarchs beginning Friday, April 16th at 7 p.m. at the Cumberland County Civic Center. Pirates Playoff Hockey powered by Time Warner Cable continues with Game 2 of the series Saturday, April 18th at 7 p.m. at the CCCC.
The first round match up was finalized tonight after the Pirates dropped a 5-2 decision to the Lowell Devils while the Monarchs suffered a 2-0 loss at the hands of the Bridgeport Sound Tigers. The series will head to Manchester for Games 3 and 4 to be played at the Verizon Wireless Arena on Monday, April 19th and Tuesday, April 20th. Both games are 7 p.m. starts.

Advance tickets for the opening round of Pirates Playoff Hockey powered by Time Warner Cable are $16 for Main Deck, $13 for Quarter Deck or $11 for Senior/Student/Youth in either seating location and are available at the Civic Center box office or by calling (207) 775-3458. Special group ticket pricing is also available. Groups of 10 or more can save $2 per ticket off the Box Office price. The Pirates Regular Season comes to a close tomorrow (Sunday) at the Cumberland County Civic Center when the Worcester Sharks visit for a 4 p.m. start. It's PeoplesChoice Credit Union Fan Appreciation Day as select fans will win the shirt right off the back of their favorite player at the end of the game. The UNUM Challenge concludes with the Sharks leading 4-3. It's USA Hockey Member Appreciation Night. USA Hockey Members their family and friends can get special discounted ticket price of $9 per person. And it's a Sudzie Family Five Pack Game.
