
Amerks suffer first loss to Crunch in season finale

(Rochester)... The Rochester Americans come back fell short to the Syracuse Crunch as they dropped a 5-2 decision tonight at the Onondaga County War Memorial at Oncenter. The lost drops the Amerks to 44-33-2-1 on the season. It is also the first lost the Amerks suffered to their interstate rivals this season.
Trevor Frischmon gave the Crunch an early 1-0 lead as he cleaned up a rebound in front of Amerks rookie goalie Alex Petizian. Earlier in the day the Amerks sign Petizan to an amateur tryout and tonight he made his professional debut for Rochester.
The Crunch extended there lead to 2-0 as Maksim Mayorov knocked in a rebound at the 11:46 mark of the first. Assisting on Mayorov's 16th goal was Tyler Murovich and Jordan laVallee-Smotherman.
At the 16:48 mark of the second the Crunch took a 3-0 lead as Mayorov found the back of the net for the second time tonight. The Crunch made it 4-0 when Mike Ratchuck was able to net his third goal of the season.
Rochester got on the board when Graham Mink followed up a rebound and deposited his 20th goal of the season into the net. Assisting on the play was Michal Repik and Chris Taylor.
The Amerks cut the lead in half as David Brine put the puck between the pipes for the Amerks second goal of the game. Assisisting on Brine's 14th goal of the season was Michael Duco and Corey Syvret.
Nick Holden sealed the deal for the Crunch as he flung the puck into the empty net to make the game 5-2.
The Rochester Americans clinched second place in the American Hockey League North Division and home ice advantage in the first round of the 2010 Calder Cup Playoffs. With clinching second place, Rochester will open the postseason most likely against the Abbotsford Heat in Game 1 of the best-of-seven North Division Semifinals on Thursday, April 15th at The Blue Cross Arena. The Amerks remain at home for Game 2 on Saturday, April 17th before hitting the road for the next three games. If necessary, Rochester will return home for Game 6 and 7 on Sunday, April 25th and Tuesday, April 27th.
First-round playoff tickets are available for advance purchase starting as low as $10 for 200-Upper End seating, while the premium 100-level seats are priced at $19. All prices will increase $1 for all day-of-game purchases.
The Amerks are also offering first-round specific group pricing (10 or more people), starting as low as $10.
Current season ticket holders are able to purchase the first round package, beginning at just $50. If season ticket holders wish to purchase on a per-game basis, they may purchase their season seat up to 48 hours before the game of their choice.
