Chicago Wolves News Release
The Chicago Wolves will launch their first 2010 Calder Cup playoff series, the team's 14th postseason bid in 16 years, when they face the Milwaukee Admirals in a best-of-seven series beginning at the Allstate Arena on Wed., April 14, at 7 p.m., and Fri., April 16, at 7:30 p.m.
Games 3 and 4 will be held at the Bradley Center in Milwaukee on Sat., April 17, at 7 p.m., and on Mon., April 19, at 7 p.m. If necessary, the Wolves will host Game 5 on Wed., April 21, at 7 p.m., the Admirals will host Game 6 on a date to be determined, and Chicago will host Game 7 on Mon., April 26, at 7 p.m.
The top-seeded Wolves, who clinched the West Division title on Saturday, posted a 7-2-1-0 mark against the fourth-seeded Admirals during the 10-game regular-season series to win the Amtrak Rivalry between the squads this year. Chicago has faced Milwaukee five times before in postseason play, coming away with wins in four of those series. Most recently, the Wolves defeated the Admirals, 4-games-to-2, in the 2008 West Division Semifinal en route to capturing the Calder Cup in the club's last postseason appearance, and swept the 2007 West Division Semifinal against Milwaukee, 4-games-to-0.
The Wolves also defeated the Admirals, 4-games-to-2, in the 1998 International Hockey League Western Conference Semifinal and 4-games-to-1 in the 2001 IHL Western Conference Semifinal. Milwaukee eliminated Chicago, 4-games-to-2, in the 2004 American Hockey League West Division Final.
