
Two Wolves Selected to AHL All-Star Team

Chicago Wolves right wing SPENCER MACHACEK and defenseman PAUL POSTMA have been selected to the Western Conference Team for the 2011 AHL All-Star Classic presented by Capital BlueCross, which will take place at the Giant Center in Hershey, Penn., on Jan. 30 and Jan. 31.
POSTMA was voted to the starting line-up for the Western Conference in fan voting on AHL.com. The 21-year-old blueliner leads Wolves defensemen and shares fourth among AHL blueliners with 27 points (7G, 20A) in 42 games this season - two points shy of his 29-point total in 63 outings as a rookie with Chicago last year. His 20 assists share third on Chicago and are tied for seventh among league defensemen, while his seven goals rank seventh on the Wolves.
The Red Deer, Alberta, native led Wolves defensemen and ranked eighth overall on the team with 15 goals and held second among team blueliners with 29 points in 63 games during his AHL debut last year.
MACHACEK, who is currently on NHL recall with the Atlanta Thrashers, ranks second on the Wolves with 14 goals and holds third on Chicago and shares 14th in the league with 33 points in 39 games this season. He also ranks second the Wolves and shares 12th in the AHL with a +14 plus/minus rating.
The 22-year-old forward set career highs with 29 assists and 49 points in 79 outings with the Wolves last year, and has recorded 57 goals and 130 points in 195 career AHL outings spanning three seasons with Chicago overall. He also has appeared in three career NHL outings with Atlanta.
The Wolves will host the Texas Stars in their second annual School Day Game at the Allstate Arena on Wednesday at 11 a.m.
