Omaha Storm Chasers News Release
Papillion, Neb. - The Omaha Storm Chasers (26-25) dropped game four to the Indianapolis Indians (26-25) 5-2 on Friday night from Werner Park.
The Storm Chasers put up the game's first run on a homer by DH Nate Eaton in the third, extending the streak of consecutive games with a home run to six games.
3B Clay Dungan decided that he was going to put a run up in the fourth by way of another solo home to make Omaha's lead 2-0.
Omaha's starter put up a quality start as LHP Austin Cox went 6.0 strong innings, allowing one earned run in the no decision. Cox's performance is the fourth quality start for Omaha in the last six games.
The Indians put up three runs in the seventh, taking the lead from Omaha. Indy put up another in the ninth to make the score 5-2.
C Freddy Fermin drew a one-out walk in the bottom the ninth but that's the only base runner Omaha could get in the ninth as Indy took game four 5-2.
Omaha will be wearing specialty Runza Jerseys tomorrow for their game with Indianapolis. The game-worn jerseys will be part of an auction, both online and in a silent auction in the ballpark. First pitch for Friday's game is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. with coverage beginning at 6:45 p.m. with the Sarpy County Tourism Pregame Show on 1180 The Zone. Get to the game early to get our giveaway item, a Runza beach towel.
