Charlotte Knights News Release
(UPTOWN CHARLOTTE, NC) -- Tyler O'Neil's ninth-inning home run led the Memphis Redbirds to a 4-3 win over the Charlotte Knights on Saturday night in front of a sell-out crowd of 10,403 fans at Truist Field. With the loss, the Knights have dropped four of five games in the series.
The Redbirds took a 1-0 lead in the first inning thanks to a home run from left fielder Connor Capel. The Knights came right back in the bottom of the first inning to tie the game at 1-1 thanks to an RBI single from Yermín Mercedes. Three innings later, the Redbirds regained the lead on an RBI single by Luken Baker.
In the top of the seventh inning, Capel added to the Memphis lead with an RBI triple. With the Redbirds now ahead by a score of 3-1, Charlotte center fielder Adam Haseley changed the game with one swing of the bat. Haseley drove home two runs on a single, which tied the game up at 3-3 in the bottom of the eighth inning.
