Idaho Steelheads News Release
Boise, ID (11/26/14) - Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Brad Ralph announced Wednesday that the Idaho Steelheads have acquired forward Devin DiDiomete from the Missouri Mavericks in exchange for future considerations. Also, Ralph announced that forward Taylor Peters has joined the team after being assigned to Idaho by the NHL's Dallas Stars.
DiDiomete, 26, is classified as a veteran by ECHL standards, having appeared in 196 games in the American Hockey League and 74 at the ECHL level. He skated in five games for Missouri, picking up a pair of assists and 44 penalty minutes, along with a plus-3 rating. In his 270 professional games in either the AHL or ECHL, DiDiomete (pronounced dee-dee-oh-MET-ee) has accumulated 1,236 penalty minutes. He was drafted in the 7th round of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft by the Calgary Flames out of the Ontario Hockey League.
The 22-year-old Peters is in his second professional season after a successful junior-hockey career with the Portland Winterhawks of the Western Hockey League. He was part of the 2013 WHL championship team in Portland that reached the prestigious Memorial Cup tournament. His first 81 professional games have all been played at the AHL level - the highest level of minor-league hockey in North America - where he scored seven goals and added ten assists with the Texas Stars.
The Steelheads are on the road this weekend in Anchorage, Alaska, against the Aces Friday and Saturday. Game time is 9:15 PM (Mtn) and can be heard live in the Treasure Valley on KTIK (1350 AM). Idaho's next home game is Wednesday, December 3, against the Bakersfield Condors at CenturyLink Arena. Tickets are available at the CenturyLink Arena box office at 208-331-8497.
Group outings at a Steelheads game are a great way to gather friends, colleagues, or co-workers for a fun night out in downtown Boise. Ticket prices are discounted and you can get a Pepsi, Double-R Ranch Hot Dog, and bag of chips with each ticket.
