Alaska Aces News Release
ANCHORAGE, Alaska - The Alaska Aces, the 2014 Kelly Cup champions, announced in conjunction with Specialty Truck and Auto that a special canned food drive event will be held outside Sullivan Arena before the next two Aces home games, Friday and Saturday, Nov. 28-29 vs. Idaho at 7:15 p.m.
Tickets are available via www.alaskaaces.com/tickets, at local Fred Meyer locations via Ticketmaster, in-person at the Aces Store and Ticket Office (corner of 15th and Gambell) or by calling 907-258-ACES.
For the two games following Thanksgiving, the canned food drive is established to benefit the food pantry of Joint Base-Elemendorf Richardson (JBER), via the Armed Services YMCA of Alaska. All fans visiting Sullivan Arena that night are strongly encouraged to bring and deposit non-perishable, canned food items to collection bins that will be located at the entrances of Sullivan Arena.
Cash donations will also be accepted in lieu of canned food items. Donations will be accepted both nights, beginning at 5:30 p.m.
The Aces, winners of four of the last five games and coming out of a 12-day layoff, return to play Friday, Nov. 28 against Idaho. Broadcast coverage will begin at 7:00 p.m. (GCI/KFQD).
