Alaska Aces Announce New Hall of Fame

ANCHORAGE, Alaska - The Alaska Aces, the 2014 Kelly Cup champions, announced today that it will unveil its inaugural class of the new Aces Hall of Fame following vote submissions by Jan. 1 to honor players, coaches and special honorees.

The Aces Hall of Fame, established to honor former Aces players, coaches and special honorees (ranging from organizational staff to fans), recognizes those who have demonstrated meritorious service which has made a long-lasting impact on the Alaska Aces organization.

"Establishing the Alaska Aces Hall of Fame is an extremely special occasion designed to appropriately recognize past players, coaches and even fans who have made an enormous contribution to our success," said Aces co-owner Jerry Mackie. "Based on our rich tradition of success, it's now time to recognize the history that has elevated Aces hockey into one of the flagship teams of professional hockey. It's exciting to coordinate that with the participation of our fans, which is something they can call their own."

Inductees will be selected from nominations by Aces season ticket holders. Inductees will be honored at an annual Aces Hall of Fame Weekend at Sullivan Arena, during a special pregame ceremony during Feb. 20-21 against the Utah Grizzlies.

Deadline for submissions is Jan. 1, 2015. Season ticket holders may submit nominations for players, coaches or special honorees by email at mike.benton@alaskaaces.com, in person at the Aces offices or by mail to:
